MORPHO BUTTERFLY:
New National Symbol
The deputies of the Legislative Assembly in Costa Rica voted in favor of declaring the morpho butterfly as the 18th National Symbol of the country.
Los diputados de la Asamblea Legislativa de Costa Rica votaron a favor de declarar la mariposa morpho como nuevo SÃmbolo Nacional del paÃs.

This is one of the last sessions of the 2018-2022 period which ends this month.
Costa Rica now counts with a new symbol which will accompany the country’s brand.
Esto se dio en una de las ultimas sesiones legislativas del perÃodo 2018-2022, el cual termina este mes de Abril.
Costa Rica ahora cuenta con un nuevo sÃmbolo que acompañara el resto de las imágenes de la marca paÃs.
It is established that the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) will seek for the protection of the butterflies within the national territory. The Costa Rican Institute of Tourism will promote its image as an international and national symbol. Part of the same effort involves the Public Education Ministry and the Superior Council of Education, to include this declaration and its importance in the education system.
Se establece que el Ministerio de Ambiente y EnergÃa (MINAE) velará por la protección de estas mariposas dentro del paÃs. Por otro lado el Instituto Costarricense de Turismo la promoverá como imagen a nivel internacional como nacional. El Ministerio de Educación Publica y el Consejo Superior de Educación, deberán promover la importancia de esta declaratoria dentro del sistema educativo.
This declaration drives State Institutions, organizations and businesses to develop and support trade, exhibit, export and use of the image and the economical activities derived from the morpho butterfly. The morpho butterfly, the masquerades, coffee and the sloth are the four national symbols approved in this 2018-2022 government.
Esta declaratoria promueve y apoya el comercio, exhibición, exportai´øn y uso de la imagen y las actividades económicas provenientes de la mariposa morpho, entre el Estado y sus instituciones, organizaciones y negocios. La mariposa morpho, las mascaradas, el café y el oso perezoso son los cuatro sÃmbolos nacionales aprobados en el Gobierno del 2018-2022.
