Unique in the World,
Exceptional in Costa Rica
Sensoria’s thermal waters are among the rarest on the planet, found only in select regions of Costa Rica, Mexico, and Argentina. Heated naturally by the volcanic magma of Rincón de la Vieja, these waters flow freely through untouched riverbeds—never confined by cement—creating pristine pools surrounded by lush rainforest.
A Natural Gift, Scientifically Proven
Our waters are classified as hypothermal, sulfated, and mildly acidic, with a temperature range of 20–35°C (68–95°F). Their unique mineral composition includes:
- Calcium – for bone strength and skin nourishment
- Magnesium – aids muscle relaxation and skin regeneration
- Sulfur and Hydrogen Sulfide – powerful detoxifiers and anti-inflammatory agents for joints
- Copper & Boron – known for skin healing and hormonal balance
- Fluoride – supports oral health and remineralization
- Radon (in minimal, safe quantities) – a natural analgesic, promoting profound relaxation and a deep sense of well-being
These waters are also ionized, rich in negative ions that calm the nervous system and help reduce stress.
A Spa in Nature
- The high calcium content creates a mesmerizing white-marble effect on the riverbed, making the pools visually striking and naturally reflective.
- The acidic pH (~4.0) deeply cleanses the skin, removing impurities without the need for chemical additives.
- The unique composition prevents the growth of algae or marine life, resulting in crystal-clear waters year-round.
- Their mild conductivity offers a gentle electromagnetic stimulation, harmonizing the body’s natural energy.
Sustainability in Every Drop
Sensoria is proud to be certified by the Costa Rican government (SETENA) and is part of the exclusive CST Elite group—the highest recognition for sustainability in Costa Rica.
We generate 100% of our energy through a combination of solar and hydroelectric power, driven by the very rivers that feed our thermal pools.

Hike and waterfalls We had an amazing driver from our hotel. We stopped at a small cafe where we enjoyed delicious coffee and fresh made bakery items which were delicious as well. We really enjoyed our guide Joaquin. He was amazing! He is so passionate and knowledgeable. Our favorite part was being able to swim by the waterfalls. The only disappointing part were the roads. There were so many pot holes so the ride was very bumpy for about 20 minutes up to where the tour began.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

100% Recommend Sensoria!! September 3, 2026, The views, hikes, waterfalls and especially the learning experience and getting to connect and be more educated on Costa Ricas rainforests and geographic / ecological ecosystems made this trip memorable and beautiful as well as unique. Learning about the environment of Costa Rica is like no other place on Earth and Sensoria definitely highlights these elements. The hot springs and waterfalls were amazing and the rain Falling in the forest as you hike was magical. Joaquin was an amazing guide and gave so much insight to the nature in Sensoria especially with the animals and plants. It was amazing to be one with nature especially with Joaquin, he is such an amazing speaker and was so passionate and insightful. The lunch was amazing too. Pablo was an excellent driver and made the ride safe and comfortable. We would definitely come back to Sensoria such a wonderful experience. Thank You! - The Asrafally Family.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Wonderful hike with great waterfalls The park the waterfalls everything is pretty amazing the drive here pretty bumpy lots of potholes and the hike is probably at least 2 1/2 miles to the first waterfall with lots of stairs up and down some pretty steep so make sure you’re in decent physical condition the waterfalls were amazing two out of three you can swim in, which felt awesome. After hiking in the jungle. I would recommend it just be prepared for the drive.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Highly recommend The best thing I did in Costa Rica was this excursion. We were a very small group of friends (3 total) who had travelled together on this one. First off, a shout out to our driver, Pablo, who got us there safely and back (2.5 hour drive each way!) and thoughtfully stopped at various points of interest along the way to show us local wildlife such as a three-toed sloth sleeping in a tree and toucans he spotted. He was absolutely adorable and he talked to us the whole way there and back. He was learning English and I had been learning Spanish, so we learned a lot of words from each other! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and sweet. At Sensoria itself, our tour guide was Joaquin. He was also extremely knowledgeable, taking great care to explain the wildlife, the plants, and the ecosystem. Highly educational experience. The hike itself was easy and beautiful. If you have trouble with stairs, however, you might want to skip on this as there were a lot of stairs. We did not get to see the beautiful blue waterfall because the volcano had erupted a couple of days previously, so the water was grey and filled with ash at the first stop, but a marvel to behold nonetheless. At all the other waterfalls, Joaquin took great photos of our group members using our phones so we would have the memories. He also was kind enough to carry our towels in his backpack for us because on the day we did this excursion, there was a steady rain that sometimes turned torrential. The hot spring and mud bath is a definite "must do." Lunch was fantastic. We chose the Costa Rican options and they were great. Coffee after lunch was superb. I would recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Costa Rica!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Real experience in a rainforest This was a beautiful and unique experience. I was excited to be close and enjoy the benefits of a volcano. I received forest and animal knowledge during the hike with Joaquin. At times the hike was challenging, however I love hiking and seeing the beauty of Costa Rica. I would absolutely do it again, as the reward was relaxing in the various natural pool and the mud at the end. This is a wonderful way to learn about the rain forest and how beautiful the country is. I highly recommend if you love a slow but challenging hike in one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Wonderful Experience We scheduled a group visit to Sensoria and had a wonderful time. We booked directly with the operator because we wanted to select an experience that was comfortable for pregnant women. We chose the Jaguar experience, which was lovely. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The hikes through the jungle was moderate. The different waterfalls and pools were very relaxing and immersive. Finally, the food and beverages that were served were very good. The facilities were also very clean and well kept. The fee was reasonable. We also paid for round trip transportation from our resort. We would certainly do this tour again.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Best Experience Ever This was a tour of a lifetime. We were provided with the best customer service ever. Our tour guide was amazing. He was a walking library and taught us so much about the forest as we hiked through. The waterfalls were breath taking and our final soak in the Jaguar pool was just perfect. The whole tour was worth every penny. I honestly feel they need to up the price for what you receive.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
