Sensoria lives up to it’s name. Excellent tour.
Our trip to Sensoria was amazing and far exceeded expectations. The road getting there is rough and you have to cross a river so a 4×4 is recommended. Once we got there we were met with a fresh glass of juice. Our guide, Joaquin, explained everything we would do and activity level. We don’t do much hiking and are retired folks. No problem!! We were given hiking sticks, water and lots of stops along the way for education. Joaquin is so knowledgeable on the flora, fauna and sustainable eco tourism. His passion for the rainforest was on display and it made the hike ever so enjoyable. There are a lot of steps, approximately 2 miles up and 2 miles down. We had plenty of rest stops as needed. There were 3 hot springs and 2 waterfalls we could go in if we chose. Even though we had our swimsuits under our clothes, we chose not to go in until the last pool. We did see other tours go in so it did look like fun. They keep each tour separate in our own little bubbles so it felt very safe. After the tour, we had a fabulous lunch. I had the chicken wrap and my husband had the traditional tico chicken and rice. Excellent food!! Then we watched a brief video on the camera traps thoughout the property to see the wildlife that live in the rainforest. Jaugars, cougars, margays (we’re cat people so were thrilled to see them thrive), peccary, deer, etc. During the movie we were served an amazing coconut ball cookie and a small cup of coffee. This tour is worth every penny. It has been the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We highly recommend it.
