Six years ago today, on December 18th 2013, Sensoria opened its ‘Wonderland’ to the rest of the World.

What started as a childhood dream, would eventually evolve into a venture within the world of sustainable tourism. Currently, Sensoria is one of the most influential and sustainable tour operations in Costa Rica and the Central American region.

Located North of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, Sensoria has a natural boundary with neighboring Rincón de la Vieja National Park, which lies within the Guanacaste Conservation Area (ACG); in which over 185,000 hectares of rainforest are protected.

Sensoria’s stelar attractions are its pristine tropical rainforest, mesmerizing blue waterfalls and natural pools. Infrastructure has always been secondary to the operation, and yet key to managing sustainability by giving priority to the conservation of nature. Only 1% of the property is used for tours and only 50 persons are allowed per day to create minimum impact on the environment, while assuring the highest quality of service within our standard of excellence.

Since its launch in 2013, Sensoria has hosted an amount of visitors equivalent to 242 fully boarded medium sized airplanes. The success of this operation relies on offering knowledgeable, life-changing experiences in an untamed rainforest; to a niche of well-educated, conservation-oriented and nature-seeking tourists. Sensoria opens its tours 365 days a year, mainly receiving adults ranging from 28-65 years, who are eager to live a grounding experience in the rainforest of Costa Rica.

Sensoria is currently among the top ranked (#2) tours in Guanacaste according to TripAdvisor and has won its Excellence Awards for 5 consecutive years, thanks to the premium world-class service that it offers. The operation has developed competitive work opportunities for the neighboring communities of Gavilan and Buenos Aires de Upala, boosting the local economy and increasing its human capital.
